MIND
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
In Scientology, the mind is understood as a control system that operates between the thetan and the physical universe, serving as the means by which the spiritual being interacts with the physical world. It is explicitly distinguished from the brain, which is a physical organ.
Why It Matters
This definition is fundamental because it establishes that the mind is a tool used by the thetan, not the source of consciousness itself. Understanding this relationship is essential to all auditing, which addresses the mind to free the thetan.
