ANALYTICAL MIND

This mind consists of visual pictures, either of the past or the physical universe, monitored and presided over by the knowingness of a thetan. The keynote of the analytical mind is awareness; one knows what one IS concluding and doing. It combines perceptions of the immediate environment, of the past (via pictures) and estimations of the future into conclusions which are based upon the realities of situations.

Usage

When a person consciously observes their environment, recalls past experiences, and makes reasoned decisions about what to do next, they are using their analytical mind. The analytical mind operates with full awareness, meaning the person knows what they are concluding and doing.

Why It Matters

The analytical mind is central to Scientology because it represents the rational, aware capacity of the individual, presided over by the thetan. Auditing aims to free the analytical mind from the suppressive influence of the reactive mind, restoring the person's full awareness and reasoning ability.
