BLOWDOWN
A definite, rapid drop of the E-Meter tone arm of 0.2 divisions or more, associated with a vanishment of mental mass or energy in the mind of the preclear. It is a period of relief and cognition to the preclear while it is occurring and for a moment after it stops.

Usage
During auditing, a blowdown shows as a rapid drop of the E-Meter's tone arm by 0.2 divisions or more, indicating that mental mass or energy has vanished from the preclear's mind. The preclear typically experiences relief and cognition while the blowdown is occurring.
Why It Matters
A blowdown is a measurable indicator on the E-Meter that something significant has released in the preclear's mind. It confirms that auditing is producing results, as the preclear is shedding mental mass and gaining new understanding.
