BEINGNESS PROCESSING
Processing that has a person be things — take on identities — as a way of getting him unstuck. Being something is a matter of identifying yourself with it, and a person who cannot be something also cannot do the things that go with it.
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
A person who cannot picture himself as a capable driver will keep struggling to drive, however much instruction he gets. Beingness processing works at that level rather than at the level of skill, and a person's imagination usually comes back to life noticeably while it is being run.
Why It Matters
Abilities travel with identities, so an inability to be something quietly blocks a whole set of abilities. This is why beingness is addressed directly rather than only through practice.
