PARTS OF MAN
The three parts a person divides into: the spirit, which is the person himself and is called the thetan; the mind, which he uses; and the body, which he operates. They are separate things, not one thing looked at three ways.

Usage
When a person says "my mind" and "my body", he is already making this distinction without noticing it — whoever is saying "my" is the third part. Auditing addresses all three, but it is the first that is being helped.
Why It Matters
This is one of the plainest statements in the subject and one of the most consequential. What follows from it is that a person is not his body and not his mind.
