The rules and administrative formulas and procedures by which individuals in an organization agree on action and conduct their organizational activities.

Usage

In a Scientology organization, policy consists of the rules, administrative formulas, and procedures that staff members agree on and follow to conduct their activities. When a staff member needs to know how to handle a particular organizational situation, they refer to the applicable policy.

Why It Matters

Policy provides the stable framework that allows an organization to function in a coordinated and predictable manner. Without agreed-upon policy, each person would handle situations differently, leading to confusion and reduced organizational effectiveness.
