POTENTIAL TROUBLE SOURCE (PTS)

Any person who, while active in Scientology or a pre-clear, remains connected to a Suppressive Person or Group. (A person "roller coasters", i.e., gets better, then worse, etc., only when connected to a Suppressive Person or Group, and in order to cease roller coastering must receive processing intended to handle such.)

Usage

A Potential Trouble Source is any person active in Scientology or receiving processing who remains connected to a Suppressive Person or Group. The characteristic sign of a PTS person is roller coastering—getting better and then worse repeatedly.

Why It Matters

Identifying PTS conditions is critical because a person connected to a Suppressive Person or Group cannot make stable gains from processing. Specific processing exists to handle this condition so the person can cease roller coastering and progress steadily.
