HASI
Hubbard Association of Scientologists, International. A membership group of fellow auditors and Scientologists alike. Yearly dues were five dollars per year before the policy of the membership activity was ended by someone other than LRH. The HASI membership group was replaced by a Corporation not part of the main Scientology corporation itself and named the International Association of Scientologists. (IAS). This was never sanctioned by LRH and is not in any Scientology Policy, Technical Bulletin, Executive Directive or otherwise, anywhere in Scientology. The HASI is the ONLY real Scientology membership group ever sanctioned in Scientology policy.
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
An auditor or Scientologist would join the HASI by paying yearly dues of five dollars, gaining membership in the official fellowship of auditors and Scientologists established by LRH policy.
Why It Matters
The HASI is significant because it is the only Scientology membership group ever sanctioned in Scientology policy. The IAS, which replaced it, was never authorized by LRH in any policy, technical bulletin, or executive directive.
