ABERRATION
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
A person displaying aberration might behave irrationally whenever a specific subject comes up, such as becoming unreasonably angry or fearful about something that others find ordinary. The aberrated behavior stems from the influence of the reactive mind on that particular subject.
Why It Matters
Aberration is a central concept in Scientology because it identifies the source of irrational behavior as the reactive mind rather than the person themselves. Auditing addresses aberration by reducing the reactive mind's influence, restoring rational thought and behavior.
