ACCESSIBILITY CHART
A chart that shows how reachable a person is — how much of him you can actually talk to and reason with. It runs from someone you can only make small talk with at the low end, all the way up to someone whose full reason is available. An auditor uses it to see where a person is before deciding how to help him.

Usage
An auditor meeting someone for the first time can place him on the Accessibility Chart to see how much of the person is really there to talk to. Someone low on the chart may only be reachable in ordinary conversation, while someone high on it can look at his own life squarely and reason about it.
Why It Matters
Knowing how accessible a person is tells you where to start, and starting in the wrong place wastes everyone's time. The chart first appeared with the 1950 lectures and remains a simple way to judge where a person can actually be reached.
