MACHINE

An actual machine in the mind, (like ordinary machinery) constructed out of mental mass and energy, that has been made by the individual to do work for him or her or solve a problem of magnitude for the individual. Usually having been set up so as to come into operation automatically under certain pre-determined circumstances.

Usage

A person might discover in auditing that they set up a mental machine years ago to automatically solve a recurring problem, and that this machine is now operating outside their awareness. These constructions are made of mental mass and energy and run on their own under certain conditions.

Why It Matters

Machines are significant because they represent automated mental activity the individual created but may no longer control. Uncovering and addressing them in auditing restores the person's direct control over their own mental processes.
