Usage
In Scientology, a problem is defined as anything with opposing sides of equal force—such as postulate counter-postulate, intention counter-intention, or idea counter-idea. A person stuck in a problem has two opposing forces locked against each other.
Why It Matters
This precise definition of a problem is fundamental to auditing because it reveals that problems persist when two forces are balanced against each other. By addressing one side of the opposition—such as an underlying postulate—the auditor can help the preclear resolve the problem.
