PRESENT TIME

That which is conceived in the here and now and which becomes the past almost as rapidly as it is observed. It is a term that refers to the environment as it exists now, not as it existed; as in the phrase "the preclear came up to present time", meaning the preclear became aware of the existing matter, energy, space and time of now. "Now."

Usage

When a preclear "comes up to present time," it means they have become aware of the existing matter, energy, space, and time of now, rather than being stuck in past incidents. Present time is what is perceived in the here and now.

Why It Matters

A preclear's ability to be in present time is a key indicator of their case state, as being stuck in past incidents prevents a person from perceiving and responding to their current environment accurately. Auditing aims to free attention from the past so the person can operate in present time.
