MISEMOTION
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
A person displaying misemotion might react with intense grief or rage in a situation that does not warrant such a response, because the emotion is irrational and inappropriate to the present time circumstances. This suppressed emotion remains part of the person's locks and secondaries until addressed in auditing.
Why It Matters
Misemotion indicates that past incidents are being restimulated and driving the person's emotional responses in the present. Handling misemotion through auditing frees the person to respond rationally to current situations rather than reacting from old recordings.
