NOT-KNOW
Being able to set something aside deliberately — to put it out of mind by choice rather than by pushing it down or covering it over. A person who can genuinely not-know something can drop it clean, without effort.
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
Most people trying to forget something are actually working hard to hold it down, which keeps it present. Learning what has been learned can only become a burden when a person cannot let go of it at will.
Why It Matters
Remembering and forgetting are usually treated as things that happen to a person rather than things he does. Being able to do both on purpose is a considerable freedom.
