NULLING
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
During nulling, the auditor reads items from a prepared list to the preclear while watching the E-Meter for reactions from the preclear's bank. Each item is called and the meter response is noted to identify which items carry charge.
Why It Matters
Nulling is an essential auditing technique that allows the auditor to precisely identify which items on a list are charged and need to be addressed. This use of the E-Meter ensures that auditing targets the right material rather than working on uncharged items.
