MENTAL IMAGE PICTURE
A picture the mind keeps of something that happened. It is not flat like a photograph — it has three dimensions, colour, sound, smell and every other sense, plus whatever the person concluded at the time. These pictures are made of energy and have real mass.
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
When someone recalls last summer and can see, hear and smell it, he is looking at a mental image picture. If it is a record of something that actually happened it is called a facsimile; if the person made it up himself it is called a mock-up.
Why It Matters
The whole record of a person's past is made of these pictures, laid down one after another. Auditing works with them directly, which is why what happened long ago can still be reached.
