EXPANDED DIANETICS
A branch of Dianetics adapted to the individual person rather than applied the same way to everyone. It is used for the harder cases — someone heavily affected by drugs, or by damaging psychiatric treatment, or who is chronically ill or physically disabled — where ordinary Dianetics does not reach.
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
Where standard Dianetics is applied broadly and much the same for everybody, Expanded Dianetics is fitted to the particular person in front of you. It is aimed at heavy hidden charge and at long-standing conditions the person has not been able to shift.
Why It Matters
It exists because some people were being left behind by procedures that worked for most. It requires additional training, and it sits above Class IV on the training route.
