STANDARD DIANETICS

The 1969 standardization of Dianetics auditing, which brought together everything learned since 1950, simplified the techniques and shortened the auditing time needed. It is a precision activity — done exactly, it produces results; done loosely, it does not.

Usage

Standard Dianetics is applied broadly and much the same way for everybody, which is what distinguishes it from Expanded Dianetics. It was replaced by New Era Dianetics in 1978.

Why It Matters

The word "standard" is doing real work here: the gains come from doing it exactly as written. This is where "standard tech" as an idea takes hold.
