GOALS ASSESSMENT
An auditing action in which a very full list of a person's goals is written out and then checked over, one by one, to find the one that is actually live for him. That goal is then used in the auditing that follows.

Usage
The auditor takes down a long list of goals from the person and then reads it back, watching the meter, to see which one reacts. Guessing at the goal does not work; it has to be found.
Why It Matters
A person's own goals turn out to be central to what is holding his case in place. Finding the right one is what makes the later steps effective.
