ASSESSMENT
The auditor in a standard model session, calls aloud a list of questions from (a prepared assessment list) to find which questions on the list read on the meter by order of magnitude in size of read, or at all; depending on whether the auditor is looking for the largest read or any charge on a question in general when it is asked.
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
During an assessment, the auditor reads questions from a prepared list while the preclear listens, and the auditor notes which questions produce reads on the meter. The size of the meter read indicates the amount of charge on that particular question.
Why It Matters
Assessment is a standard auditing procedure used to identify which areas carry the most charge for a preclear. It allows the auditor to precisely target the most relevant material for processing rather than guessing.
