AS-IS-NESS
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
At the exact moment something is created, it exists in a state of as-is-ness, which means it has no persistence and would vanish if left unaltered. In auditing, restoring the as-is-ness of an experience by viewing it exactly as it was created causes it to disappear.
Why It Matters
As-is-ness is one of the four conditions of existence and explains why things vanish when viewed without distortion. It is foundational to auditing because it describes the mechanism by which unwanted mental content is erased.
