AS-IS
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
In auditing, when a preclear views an incident exactly as it is without any distortion, that incident as-ises and ceases to affect them. The ability to as-is something depends on seeing it precisely as it occurred, with no lies or alterations.
Why It Matters
As-is is a fundamental mechanism in Scientology auditing because it explains how unwanted conditions disappear when viewed exactly as they are. This principle underlies why honest, undistorted examination of experience produces relief and resolution.
