GENETIC LINE

The long line of the body itself — the unbroken chain of conception, birth and reproduction running back through every earlier form of life on this planet. It is the body's line, not the person's. Sometimes called the protoplasm line.

From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.

Usage

Anything belonging to how the body was built and inherited sits on the genetic line, while anything belonging to the person as a spiritual being sits on his own line. The two run alongside each other and are easy to confuse.

Why It Matters

Keeping the two lines apart matters in auditing, because they are addressed differently. It was set out in the 1952 book Scientology: A History of Man.
