SECURITY CHECKING
Auditing a person on a prepared list of questions about things he may have done and not told anybody. The purpose is to relieve the pressure to keep doing things that then have to be hidden. Usually shortened to sec checking.

Usage
The auditor reads the questions and watches the meter, and where something reads the person tells it. What is being handled is not the individual act so much as the compulsion to act in ways that then have to be withheld.
Why It Matters
It became an ordinary part of processing rather than a separate procedure, and it produces some of the most marked relief people report. What makes it work is that it is auditing, not interrogation.
