QUAD GRADES
The expansion of the levels from Dianetics to Grade IV Release to address all FOUR of the present day primary flows; OUTFLOW (self to another), INFLOW (another to self), CROSS-FLOW (another to another or others to others), SELF TO SELF-FLOW(a pre-clear to themselves). There are other flows beyond these four flows, used on specific other Scientology rundowns, but are beyond the scope of this definition. Quadruple Grades intensify and stabilize the gains on each level. Triple grades were delivered as standard practice on the grade chart prior to the fourth flow being developed by LRH and added to each process on the expanded grades, then broadly issued worldwide.

Usage
When a preclear does Quad Grades, each process on the expanded grades is run on all four flows: self to another, another to self, another to another, and self to self. This replaced the earlier Triple Grades practice after the fourth flow was developed and added.
Why It Matters
Running all four flows intensifies and stabilizes the gains at each grade level, ensuring the preclear is fully released on a given subject from every direction. This thorough approach addresses charge that earlier triple-flow processing may have left unhandled.
