RANDOMITY

The ratio of unpredicted motion to predicted motion.

From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.

Usage

A person facing a situation where most events are unpredictable is experiencing high randomity, while someone in a well-ordered environment with few surprises has low randomity. The ratio between what one can predict and what one cannot determines the randomity of any given situation.

Why It Matters

This concept matters because too much unpredicted motion overwhelms a person's ability to control their environment, while too little can produce boredom. Understanding randomity helps in adjusting conditions so a person can function at their optimum level.
