Usage
When an auditor runs an incident with a preclear and takes all the charge or pain out of it, that incident has been reduced. The preclear can then recall the incident without experiencing the emotional or physical pain that was previously associated with it.
Why It Matters
Reducing incidents is a core auditing action in Dianetics, as it removes the harmful energy stored in painful experiences. Once an incident is reduced, it no longer has the power to affect the person's behavior or well-being.
