Usage

First Stage Release was an obsolete general term that loosely referred to any Grade of Release below Grade V. A person described as a First Stage Release would have attained one of the lower grades on the Grade Chart.

Why It Matters

This term is no longer in standard use, having been replaced by the specific Grade designations on the Grade Chart. It reflects an earlier period in the development of Scientology processing terminology.
