Usage

When a fairly severe ethical matter arises in a Scientology organization, a Committee of Evidence may be appointed to impartially investigate the facts and make recommendations. The committee is empowered as a fact-finding group, not a punishment body.

Why It Matters

The Committee of Evidence is part of the Ethics system and ensures that serious matters are investigated impartially rather than handled arbitrarily. It protects both the organization and the individual by establishing facts before action is taken.
