COMMUNICATION COURSE
A basic course made up of drills that teach a person to communicate — to be there comfortably, to listen, to acknowledge, and to get a question answered. It is usually a person's first course, and it is part of every auditor's training.
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
A student on the Communication Course sits opposite another student and drills each part of communication separately until he can do it easily. People often report that the effects show up first in ordinary life — at work, or at home — rather than in a session.
Why It Matters
Everything else in the subject rests on being able to communicate, which is why this comes first. It is also the point at which most people find out the subject is practical rather than theoretical.
