AUTOMATICITY
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
A person operating on automaticity might repeatedly perform an action without realizing he is doing it, such as a habitual reaction he has never examined. In session, automaticity can also appear as the preclear giving a rapid, uncontrolled outflow of answers.
Why It Matters
Automaticity represents areas where a person has lost awareness or control over his own actions and responses. Identifying and addressing automaticities in auditing restores the person's knowing participation in what he is doing.
