GRADE CHART
The map of the whole route, often called the Bridge. Down the right-hand side are the steps a person goes through as he is audited; down the left are the steps of training, on which he learns to audit others. It starts where somebody first becomes dimly aware there is such a thing and shows him exactly where to go from there.
From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.
Usage
A person wanting to know what comes next looks at the chart and finds his own position on it, rather than asking someone's opinion. Both sides matter: being audited and learning to audit are two halves of the same route.
Why It Matters
Its full name is the Classification, Gradation and Awareness Chart of Levels and Certificates, which is why almost nobody uses it. Having the whole route on one sheet is what turns a subject into a path a person can actually walk.
