TONE ARM ACTION (TA)
Movement of the Tone Arm when it has to be moved more than .2 divisions to keep the needle at set (except during moments of body movement). The total number of divisions down a Tone Arm has moved accurately in a unit of time, such as 20 minutes or a two-and-a-half-hour session. Tone Arm Action denotes a change and, therefore, that case gain for the preclear is occurring.

Usage
An auditor tracks tone arm action by recording the total number of divisions down the tone arm has moved during a session. For example, in a two-and-a-half-hour session, the total TA movement is tallied to measure case progress.
Why It Matters
Tone arm action is a direct indicator that case gain is occurring for the preclear, since the movement denotes change and the dissipation of mental mass that was burdening the individual.
