DUB-IN

Any unknowingly created mental facsimile that appears to have been a record of the physical universe, but which is, in fact, only an altered copy of the time track.

From the AOGP Abridged Scientology Dictionary — based on original LRH source materials, updated through 1982.

Usage

In auditing, a preclear experiencing dub-in might recall a scene that seems real but is actually an altered copy of what happened on the time track. The auditor needs to distinguish between genuine mental facsimiles and dub-in to ensure the preclear is addressing actual incidents.

Why It Matters

Dub-in can mislead both the preclear and auditor by presenting false records as though they were real experiences. Recognizing and handling dub-in is essential to accurate auditing and genuine case progress.
