CYCLE OF ACTION

The sequence that an action goes through, wherein the action is started, is continued for as long as is required and then is completed as planned. A cycle of action consists of the following components - Start-Change-Stop.

Usage

Every task follows a cycle of action: it is started, continued for as long as required, and then completed as planned. The components are start, change, and stop — and each must be executed for the action to be considered done.

Why It Matters

The cycle of action provides a simple framework for getting things done in any area of life. Understanding and applying start-change-stop gives a person the ability to carry any action through to completion.
