About this episode

Check Out Axiom AI for yourself: https://www.ao-gp.org/axiom-ai Take our Incredibly detailed personality test!: https://www.ao-gp.org/personality-test You can spend years becoming better and still remain unable to help another person make the same change. You can also become highly skilled at helping others while leaving parts of your own life untouched. Jonathan, Simphiwe, and Quenton examine that apparent contradiction through the two routes of the Scientology Bridge: auditing and training. One rail addresses your own case and restores abilities to you; the other develops the skill to duplicate, understand, and assist another being. Either route can produce gains valuable enough to feel complete. The problem is that neither one produces the whole result by itself. That distinction becomes concrete through Jonathan’s account of training at Flag at nineteen, where receiving auditing and learning to audit were not competing activities but mutually reinforcing ones. The conversation then moves outside the auditing room: understanding how people react to change can make someone a more effective executive, salesperson, parent, or communicator in a world being rapidly reshaped by AI. Training is not status and classification is not decoration. A medical student’s enthusiasm does not qualify them to perform surgery, and reading about an advanced skill does not mean you can reliably practise it. Real competence begins with the highest level you have personally made work, while real understanding includes the ability to receive what another person is saying without substituting your own version of it. But the most important limit is not printed on the Grade Chart. A chart can show a route and a scale can measure progress, yet neither supplies the willingness to move. Simphiwe’s example is wonderfully ordinary: if you decide you cannot make good pasta because you are not Italian, that consideration becomes your ceiling; change the decision, learn at a workable gradient, and the ceiling moves. The same principle applies to training, auditing, business, relationships, and the future you believe is available to you. Look at one ability in your life and ask three things: which rail have you neglected, what is the highest level you can actually demonstrate, and what did you decide about how far you could go? The two rails provide the structure. The livingness, initiative, and decision to climb belong to you.
