About this episode

Check Out Axiom AI for yourself: https://www.ao-gp.org/axiom-ai Take our Incredibly detailed personality test!: https://www.ao-gp.org/personality-test In this Season 13 opener of the Scientology Outside of the Church podcast, We ask a question most spiritual traditions take for granted but Independent Scientology rarely names directly: Is this hell? Rather than treating hell as a fixed location of fire and torment, the conversation traces the word back to its root — "to cover," a hidden or concealed realm, a cellar where something is stored away to be dug up later — and lays that beside LRH's observation that "if you were looking for hell and you found Earth, it would duly serve." From we work through the Axioms (considerations are senior to the physical universe; Axiom 11 on is-ness and alter-is-ness), the Tone Scale, the Know-to-Mystery Scale, the CDEI scale, ARC and KRC, and Dianetics' reactive mind to ask whether the physical universe — and the life you're living in it — is a hell you've agreed to and are holding in place yourself. The discussion ranges widely and stays grounded in real examples. The hosts map Dante's circles of hell onto familiar states — limbo as the grief and apathy of feeling cut off from one's own eighth dynamic — and use Groundhog Day and The Matrix to picture the prisoner who is also his own warden, locking himself in. They look at a person who has held onto a loss for ten years and cannot let go, at the "no-game condition" of a nine-to-five that never changes, and at a South African minister preaching from the "Enforced" (anger) band of the tone scale — and how a congregation comes to mirror the tone level of whoever leads it, producing the "church hurt," infighting, and condemnation so many people recognize. Along the way they strip some false data (the Bible never actually places the devil in hell — it describes him on Earth "seeking to devour"), unpack the etymology of "devil" (diabolos, to divide or separate), set hell against help and hiding against knowing, and land on a single theme: you are your own agreement. To the degree you create a hell, you agree with it — and the same self-determinism that built it can dismantle it. That is exactly where AOGP and Independent Scientology come in. If your life right now feels like a living hell, it was never meant to be permanent, and some part of you is already demanding improvement — so let that part answer the call. You don't have to take anyone's word for it; you can look for yourself. Take our detailed personality test to see where you actually stand, explore Axiom AI for real, on-demand life-improvement support drawn from LRH's work, and connect with the AOGP community of auditors and Independent Scientologists who use these exact tools — the Axioms, Dianetics, the tone scale, auditing — to help people dig themselves out of the hole and ascend.
